Current Lab Members

Principal Investigator

Jocelyn Dautel, PhD
I am a Senior Lecturer in the School of Psychology, as well as a member of the Centre for Identity and Intergroup Relations, and a Fellow of The Senator George J. Mitchell Institute for Global Peace, Security, and Justice. I received my PhD in developmental psychology from the University of Chicago in 2013. Using empirical methods, our lab’s research explores how young people think and learn about the world around them and navigate their social relationships. We are particularly interested in how aspects of social context, such as one’s group status, culture, or surrounding societal division or integration influences developing social cognition.

Postdoctoral Researchers

Hannah J. Kramer, PhD
Hannah (pronouns: she/her) is a postdoctoral research fellow in the lab working with the Developing Belief Network to understand how children develop natural and supernatural beliefs around the world. Before coming to Queen’s, Hannah completed her BA in 2013 and PhD in 2021 at the University of California, Davis where she worked with Kristin Lagattuta in the Mind-Emotion Development Lab. Hannah is broadly interested in how people think about people with a focus on children’s and adults’ beliefs about time, mind, emotion, and social groups. To learn more about Hannah’s work, you can visit her website or just say hi (h.kramer@qub.ac.uk).
